Re: Autumn Highlander Charter 27 Sep. 2019

Thanks, as always Tim, for these pictures. I'd love to go on one of these weekend Scottish excursions but they are very expensive, although they seem to get booked up quickly. I agree with your comments about the exhaust emissions from most classes of railway locos and DMUs and the double standards ...

Re: October changes

I'd be interested to hear more about just how much Worcs CC subsidises the concessionary journeys. I seem to recall reading in Cornwall, it had dropped to less than 60p so if it is still around £1.20 in Worcestershire, they would seem to be doing quite well. Austerity is supposed to be over now, so ...

Re: BR 70000 'Britannia'

Thanks, Matt for an excellent video. I've always enjoyed the 'Brits' and can remember spending an afternoon at Liverpool St in the late 1950s and "copping" about 7 or 8 of them as they were quite common on the Eastern Region.

Re: 45596 'Bahamas' in Worcester 4 July 2019.

Nice photos, as always, Tim. Even though I was never a real fan of the LMR engines, my trainspotting excursions to Shrub Hill in the late 1950's/early 1960's were never complete without seeing the Devonian, often Jubilee hauled, on its journey south from Bradford to Paignton. For some reason the nor...

Re: Royal Blue Road Run 2019

Some lovely pictures and pure nostalgia. Reminds me of many Saturday trips to Cheltenham in the 1960's to watch the arrivals and departures at the coach station from and to all over the country.

I understand that both Birmingham and Leeds have today announced postponement of the implementation of the Clean Air regulations from early next year blaming "government delays."

Re: Train Rattles

Surely, there can be no excuse at all for running buses or trains in this day and age with insufficient leg room or badly designed uncomfortable seats or faulty heating or ventilation. Similar with rattles and squeaks although I do have some sympathy with buses in view of the appalling condition of ...

Re: HST Farewell and ROG 37

Sad to see the state of the neglected Shrub Hill station. In a way I can understand the reluctance to spend £millions on infrastructure but no excuse for the failure to spend a few quid on weedkiller. It just gives an air of dereliction and heaven knows what impression it gives to first time visitor...

Woodstones New Coach

Shugborough 023.JPG Travelled in this very smart almost brand new Scania/Irizar 58 seater coach of Woodstones of Kidderminster yesterday on a private hire with the Hanbury Hall Volunteers Club. A very comfortable ride and a very smart livery. For a small operator, Woodstones have a very modern flee...
