Re: Train Rattles

Surely, there can be no excuse at all for running buses or trains in this day and age with insufficient leg room or badly designed uncomfortable seats or faulty heating or ventilation. Similar with rattles and squeaks although I do have some sympathy with buses in view of the appalling condition of ...

Re: HST Farewell and ROG 37

Sad to see the state of the neglected Shrub Hill station. In a way I can understand the reluctance to spend £millions on infrastructure but no excuse for the failure to spend a few quid on weedkiller. It just gives an air of dereliction and heaven knows what impression it gives to first time visitor...

Woodstones New Coach

Shugborough 023.JPG Travelled in this very smart almost brand new Scania/Irizar 58 seater coach of Woodstones of Kidderminster yesterday on a private hire with the Hanbury Hall Volunteers Club. A very comfortable ride and a very smart livery. For a small operator, Woodstones have a very modern flee...

Thanks for posting the video, Tim. I particularly like the shots in the Shrub Hill area with the semaphore signals still in use.

Re: 7029 'Clun Castle' at Shrub Hill 18 May 2019.

Thank you all for some fine pictures of a superb engine. I'm booked on a charter next weekend with Clun Castle which takes in the Marches Line including a longish break in Hereford. The only trouble with actually travelling on trains like this is that you can't really see much of them in action so p...

What a bloody shambles it all is. The whole system is an embarrassment!
It certainly is and you wonder how much longer Grayling can survive. The DfT just staggers along from crisis to crisis. They have been warned that the system is not fit for purpose but just carry on as if all is well.

Re: Worcester Warriors + Pulhams

I don't know much about Pulhams but their fleet, coaches and buses, always seems to be very well kept. It would be interesting to compare their Citaros with the Worcester examples as described by TimBrown.

Re: Heading to Hotspur

Congratulations, Matt. The Marches Line is probably one of the most scenic in the country yet to many is relatively unknown. I'm booked on a steam charter hauled by recently overhauled Clun Castle next month which, after a couple of hours break in Hereford, heads north to Shrewsbury. I'm sure railfa...

Re: 6233 'Duchess of Sutherland' at Hereford 29 April 2019

Good pics, as always.

They were certainly powerful locos although there is a video on YouTube of 6233 on the same train at the weekend struggling and almost coming to a stop on Hemerdon Bank in Devon. Not the first time locos from other regions find the going difficult on GWR routes.
