Re: Autumn 2018 service changes/cuts

Here's a bit more ! https://www.worcesternews.co.uk/news/16909373.full-review-into-worcestershires-bus-network-begins-but-councillors-wont-have-long-to-investigate/ I am suspicious of this review. Re: Autumn 2018 service changes/cuts

I'm just grateful that two county councillors wanted to provide a subsidy on the Upton services. Adam was quite right when he told me earlier that what seemed to me totally inconsistent provision of subsidised services in different parts of Worcestershire was due to individual county councillors. Th...

Re: September 2018 Timetable Book

Was there a hint here? Posted a few days ago by Adam:

Looks like Stagecoach are slowly taking over in Evesham... I wonder if they are hiring? 😜

We shall have to wait and see.

Thank you for all the info you have given us from inside the company. We have learnt the practical reasons for the way things are done and for the decisions made.

I wish you all best.

Re: Autumn 2018 service changes/cuts

Tomorrow's the day. Plenty of publicity on Upton, but rather a lack of reaction on the Fifties. Perhaps it may come after the event. Anyway, there have been slight changes to the 564/565 service for Eckington, Birlingham, Wyre and Lower Moor. http://btckstorage.blob.core.windows.net/site15604/Sep%20...

Re: Lunchtime at Evesham Saturday 8 September 2018

Saturday is comparatively a poor day on the X18. A year or two ago Stagecoach dropped some late afternoon Saturday journeys. The service has a commercial Sunday service (though no evening service) but overall it would indicate that it's ok. I think the X18 is quite a service, mostly half-hourly Eves...

Re: Autumn 2018 service changes/cuts

The 363 timetable is better than I expected. It has been suggested that it is on a trial six months. I agree with DD12'S previous suggestion that the 363 ought to be linked to the 32 service to Baynhall. Longer term that may be the way to serve Upton, Welland and Hanley. Adam pointed out that histor...

Re: Bewdley Bus Gala 2 September 2018 pt. one

Records show that 5077 didn't follow for another 3 months, but it was 55-years ago and he is soon to have his 90th Birthday so I will forgive that slight mistake. Bit off topic, but there is a picture of 5077 squeezing through the Priory Gatehouse at Malvern doing an M18 to Poolbrook in the book Ma...

Re: Stratford - Birmingham ending (almost)

Thanks for the reply, JustinTyme. I'm from the BMMO era myself so I tend to forget the immense changes such as the rise of Solihull as a destination compared to the city centre. The Midland Red 150 to Stratford was basically only hourly, so I think that Johnsons have done well to keep the X20 going ...

Re: Stratford - Birmingham ending (almost)

It is sad to see another Red route go (almost). The train service to Stratford has improved over the years, but if you're actually close to the bus route, it must be a reasonable choice. Hockley Heath will be the most inconvenienced. Johnsons is a very decent company and I would have liked to see th...
