Re: Routes 104 & 116 &106 & 127

On or after 16th May 1925 and before 11th February 1928, based on the information on this page... http://midlandred.net/history/route_numbers.php

Interesting pattern around the titles... I bet they stopped using that by 1939

Re: "New look" Rugby Services

...Unless the rugby fans have previousley got the bus numbers mixed up and tried to get on the wrong bus for the return journies? :? All the time! For most of them it’s the only time they ever get on a bus and those with a bit of drink inside them can get a bit difficult when they go the “wrong way”.

Re: Buses Festival Gaydon August 18th

The Dart was a water leak and an £8 hose has been found to fix that problem. Not sure if the work has been done yet. I’m sure MattB will update is soon.

I’m now told the VR has been fixed and has been out for a test drive in Stroud. 😀

Re: Buses Festival Gaydon August 18th

Yes. Rather than wait for Stagecoach to figure out how to get me to Stroud depot to retrieve my car, I phoned my son and got a lift from him.

Agreed. 44514 looks really good in that livery.

Re: Buses Festival Gaydon August 18th

Absolutely great day at Gaydon but alas the VR did not make it home. The engine let go in Tewkesbury and we are now waiting recovery. 😥

Well I don’t know about the rest of them, but one of us managed to get out of bed on time! This is Stroud depot at Early O’Clock this morning...

Re: E300 fire

Yeah saw that. Rear O/S wheel blew so I guess that’s what they are referring to.

E300 fire

One of the last two Mk1 E300 left at Gloucester, fleet number 27511, has been destroyed by fire tonight. It was working an evening Service 24 to Gloucester. Driver and passengers are all OK.
