Re: FMR Mercedes Citaro acquisitions
Another question came to me as I saw a Nimrod liveried Citaro on a 35 working yesterday near The New Chequers; have I missed the promised promotion event, or has it been postponed until well after the next round of cuts bites from 24 February 2019? They had one at the depot while I was still workin...

Re: TRACKING !
I wonder if the ticket machine that used to be on the E300 has been fitted to another vehicle without being reprogrammed. Maybe search for that vehicle at Potteries to see if there are two of them.

Re: 'Spare Bus' Citaros
Are First short of vehicles or is it genuinely filling in for an off the road vehicle in for repair? At the time of my departing First, there was a running card with “Spare Bus” marked in the vehicle type box. Therefore in theory one should be on the same routes every day. No, I couldn’t see the po...

Re: Bus & car crash
I was told the bus was not involved, it was just the next vehicle on the scene and got stuck. Blaming the bus sells more newspapers!

Re: Disabled and pensioner concessionary passes under threat
I ran the last 351 from Gloucester to Tewkesbury tonight. A little surprised to see a woman get on with an OAP Explorer ticket. Very little point to this ticket on a Saturday because the free pass does the same job. They are mostly only used in the week before 0930. Halfway round the route she was t...

Re: Disabled and pensioner concessionary passes under threat
This problem has been known about for a long time. The free pass scheme has been so popular the local authorities are running out of money and can’t afford to subsidise routes that are not profitable. The pass scheme is written in law so it can’t be changed without an act of parliament. The result w...

Re: Service 23... A lovely double-deck route
Brilliant news, thanks Adam !! I shall study this, and look forward to trying it. I often look to see if I can include a short ramble and an "OK" pub with any leisure bus ride ! (The only snag is "23" is my unlucky number -- -- can you ask Stagecoach to renumber it for me ?) Cheers ! Timetable now ...
