Re: New Mercedes

Someone asked about the seating in the Citaros? Two photos I took inside 64044 yesterday show this one has been re-trimmed and fitted with USB ports. I also had a brief drive of 64043 (from the bottom of the bus park into the depot) and that has also been done. I haven't looked at any of the others ...

Re: 47520 - SN64 CFZ

When new the doors were electric but they were very unreliable and converted to standard some time ago. As with all StreetLites, the brakes lock on when the doors are open but the electric system wasn’t as strong as compressed air and so the doors would open slightly sometimes when you hit a bump, c...

Re: New Mercedes

The Supervisor who is sat at the wheel in the photograph simply didn't believe me when I told him the 144 started there and ran a double-deck to Birmingham every 20 minutes all day long. And why would he? The last time that stop had a regular bus was the 364 a couple of years ago and it couldn't eve...

Re: New Mercedes

Am I correct in saying that this photograph was for the photo shoot? :D Sort of... Called in there because it's near to Elgar's final resting place at Malvern Wells cemetry. I couldn't resist putting 144 on the display. The photos I will be sending to the Marketing department have "First Worcester"...

Re: Worcester Crowngate bus station 17 November 2018

You need to be 18 to get your bus licence and typically have held a car licence for two years to apply to First. However, they have been known to reduce that to as little as 6 months for strong candidates and young enthusiasts. In the case of my son, he started working in the depot as a cleaner when...

Re: Worcester Crowngate bus station 17 November 2018

The Coniston's Solo broke down in Crowngate tonight... The engineer arrived in a taxi!

Meanwhile, I spotted my son driving 67664 today so I took a photo to complete the set of the last remaining Enviro300s.

Re: New Mercedes

53802 is fitted with seatbelts for the Much Marcle School contract. When that breaks down the only other vehicle type we can use is one of the Volvo B7 Centros, which are rather large for the narrow lanes around Ledbury. 53207 will be a spare bus for that contract. It seems they don't hang around is...

Re: New Mercedes

As I was leaving the depot to head down to Crowngate a Vehicle Graphics company arrived and backed their van into the depot. We may have an answer to that question soon.

While on the subject, 53207 was sent to Derby today to have seatbelts fitted. It got their under its own power too!
