Re: October changes

Worcester News article this morning about cuts to evening services and MD Mr Nigel Eggleton's response. Basically 'the bottom line rules'. Continuing to cut the services just means that the travelling public are forced into alternative means, walking and cycling for the fit, taxis and cars for the d...

66691 rear suspension collapse?

Sorry I did not have my camera with me this afternoon, so unable to provide a picture of 66691 in Crowngate bus station on the 'ramp' with rear nearside suspension collapsed - body panels on that side nearly on the floor at the rear. I plead ignorance, but assume these Volvo's have air suspension so...

Re: October changes

Tim - I did say "only if you live in Warndon villages" Apparantly, there will be a reduction of 6 lines of work, but we have already lost 2 drivers, one who left and Woody finally retired! Yes I realised you said Warndon Villages but added my remarks as there will be a net reduction of buses along ...

Re: October changes

Tim Some good news ( but only if you live in Warndon Villages ) - the 34 is being increased from every 30 minutes, to every 20 minutes, it's pretty crap for the rest of the City! But the 33 will be withdrawn from mid October. It was every 30 minutes which combined with the current 30 minute frequen...

Electric buses and rare metals shortage.

Arriva are trialling an electric bus so this snippet from yesterday's Daily Telegraph Business section about car battery production and finite supplies of rare metals is relevant; if car manufacturers are about to fight over these commodities then it will create shortages and demand will push prices...

Re: October changes

Does anyone have any good news? Nope, sorry Tim. I have never made a proper study of how the revenue from OAP passes works, but there has been publicity over the years, about scenic services in holiday areas being withdrawn due to the fact that buses were filling-up with OAPs, and the services were...

Re: October changes

I have calmed down enough to study the revised 37 timetable from 13 October 2019, noting that this date is a Sunday and we haven't had a bus service in Bevere on a Sunday for years! The stupid planners have moved the well loaded 0930 route 37 bus into town to an earlier 0918 thus robbing this servic...

The detailed timetables are now on First's website (except the 363 / 420).
