Re: Crowngate bus station lunchtime 5 January 2019.

I'm not sure about the whole 'spare bus' thing, but that livery is growing on me. Without prejudice I think the 'spare bus' livery is an unnecessary gimmick adding cost to any repairs with non standard paint when the standard First Bus purple white and blue is such a striking scheme. That said, if ...

MRW marketing leaflet introducing Leyland Lynx.

The background colour is a deeper yellow than my scanner achieved, but the information from 1990 this Midland Red West marketing leaflet makes an interesting read. I did a number of late turns at Kidderminster garage in the early (or was it mid?) 1990s using Leyland Lynxes, but didn't appreciate the...

Article about D7 to Hollywood USA.

I have been going through my collection of bus memorabilia and came across these copies of articles in the Midland Red Magazine at the time that 4110 and 4111 made the long trip to a new home in Hollywood USA over 50 years ago. The Forum should allow you to increase the image size and make the inter...

Re: FMR Mercedes Citaro acquisitions

How many of the mercs are now in service I know 1broke down to day Here is another, 64013, which I nearly missed this morning working the 0930 37 from Green Lane to Crowngate bus station. Very low light levels, so some pixellation evident, but a record nonetheless. 27 December 2018 New Inn 002.JPG ...

These shots taken inside Finesse Optare Solo YN03 ZWA working route 354 from Redditch to Droitwich today. Note the decorations, miniature Father Christmas and Christmas tree near front of the bus. Note too the plush seats, carpets and curtains - a deluxe low-floor vehicle, which can accommodate a n...

December 2018 in Worcester area

On 12 December 2018 LMS 'Black 5' 44871 worked a Charter train from London Victoria to Worcester Shrub Hill. Re: FMR Mercedes Citaro acquisitions

I’m liking that first one Tim, both rather vintage, one potentially here to stay for several years, the other (32066), potentially on limited time. Nice contrast with the white LED and dot matrix / two newer First style liveries 64016 was new 02/03 and re-registered 11/15 and refurbished just recen...
