Re: Public Enquiry

Having just spent over an hour sat in a very dead (and hot) Diamond 42 this afternoon between Kidderminster and Bromsgrove (outside Parkgate Nurseries) I'm not best pleased with them (neither were the rest of the passengers........).

Re: Transport Museum Wythall 28 May 2018 part 1

Somewhat jealous of Adam having a ride in 234, I often reflect that we should have had a Leopard saloon at Wythall. They do have a tendency to go like 'pooh off a shovel' (and have a delightful exhaust bark). Shame that their steelwork turned to brown powder at a goodly rate (and so did the BMMO own...

Re: Summer Holidays

Time to get one of the CM6's off the patch outside and run some trips down the M5 / A30 to Cornwall for a day out. Oh, sorry, we (or more accurately our predecessors) bought the best one in August 1975..............Happy Days

Re: Derelict BMMO vehicles

A typical line up of Nationals, none of them leaning the same way........... When SD had their first allocation they soon learnt to wait for the air suspension to fully level before driving out of the garage where they had been 'feeler gauge' parked the night beforehand!

Re: Derelict BMMO vehicles

If you think that particular National is a little bit 'rough' then you should have seen our ex tyres store National that went to the great scrapyard in the sky just before Easter; we had to suspend lift it at the rear out of its home with the NBB Matador; the crane lift went up but the bus didn't......

Re: Transport Museum, Wythall Sunday 1 April 2018 part two.

The seating layout on 4943 is as original and to my knowledge never changed. The 'best seat in the house' was the nearside front giving good forward vision and allowing you to see the driver wrestling with the somewhat ill placed gear lever. 4944 had the same front seat but at the rear would origina...

Re: DD12 Revival

I always knew that those cardboard stress panels used by Alexander wouldn't be much good   Anyway my thanks to all those at First in getting 6015 into a much better shape than it was a few weeks ago. Yes, DD12, you are quite correct, a lot of the fleet that resided in the Scania Hall are c...

Re: DD12 Revival

My understanding is that Rogers Rescue will be arriving at Wythall to collect it at between 0900 and 10.00 today (Tuesday). Since there are several Fleetlines in the yard this morning I hope they take the right one........

Re: DD12 Revival

The best things in life are worth waiting for.... The current plan is that Rogers Rescue will be collecting 6015 from Wythall on Tuesday 31st October but this will be confirmed on Monday. I spent today removing a halfshaft (for towing), finding 5 outriggers and four pairs of brake shoes (not forgett...
