There is now more detail on the rural routes on the First website -scroll down past the City services detail.

I suspected it was bad, but I am gutted. Perhaps the Council will help a little - particularly on the 363.
Any driver who moved to the Herefordshire rota made a wise move!
At least the statement about 'minor adjustments' on the City services has gone.
As usual the 50s experiment comes to an end a few months before the opening of the Norton Parkway station - another white elephant waiting to happen - local co-ordination it ain't!

The snippet below appeared in the Business section of Sunday Telegraph yesterday;

With the magnitude of cuts published, I would envisage a reduction in fleet strength and a complete embargo on recruitment of new drivers with that horrible phrase natural wastage coming into play.

Well bugger me with a fishfork. That is pretty severe. Taxi drivers must be rubbing their hands at the abolition of the evening services, and is it me or is the 363 now next to useless?

So, regarding the Malverns service, the X43 and X44 will be extinct (again), and will Malvern Vale really only have a grand total of 3 or 4 journeys (peak times Mon-Fri) -- can that be right ??

Would it be a good idea to divert one of the 32 journeys every hour via Nortron Barracks before going to Kempsey & Baynhall turn?

Have you considered running a taxi in your area Matt?

- Last time I was in the Farmer's Arms at Birtsmorton, someone was quoted £24 for a taxi to Hanley Swan !!

That's a very good idea mate. I'll check how much a taxi licence costs!

Oh great, that twat again. If people want to save the bus service they should get on the bus, not go to church.

The "sad" new timetables are now on the First Worcestershire website, so we can make a study of what's left.

In the last couple of years, I have travelled on several buses serving Upton, that have had only a very few passengers, so I cannot blame First for cutting back there (again).

As for the Pershore - Worcester corridor, I cannot yet fathom-out what First are thinking of, but if this is their "final offering" then I think there may be a commercial opportunity for an enterprising operator to compete.

(The last bus back to Pershore on a Saturday will be the 17.10 X50 !!)

The real trouble about the cuts is that they are so severe as to make many services useless and the result will be that many will disappear completely in the not too distant future.

Taking the 50's as an example the hundreds of new houses being rapidly built to the north of Pershore will in effect have very few opportunities to travel to either Evesham or Worcester with the cuts to the 51, which is currently pretty poor anyway.

Of course the other problem with all of this is that when the 50's were introduced there was zero publicity about the routes and timetables apart from a few bus stop flags so no one knew when the buses ran or the route that they took.
